What Is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected. It’s focused on the present and offers practical tools to manage difficult emotions, shift unhelpful patterns and support long-term change.
CBT can also help you make sense of what your body is holding — particularly if you experience things like tension, panic, fatigue or physical symptoms with no clear cause. I recognise that the mind and body are deeply connected and we can explore how emotions often show up physically.
CBT can be especially helpful for:
Anxiety and worry
Low self-esteem
Depression or low mood
Stress and burnout
Relationship challenges
Trauma responses
Overthinking and rumination
Somatic symptoms (e.g. headaches, tension, fatigue, sleep issues)
What to Expect in 1:1 Therapy
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. In our sessions, we’ll work together to:

Identify patterns in your thinking, behaviour and emotional responses
Explore how your body may be reacting to stress or past experiences
Develop tools and strategies that feel practical, empowering and suited to you
You’ll have space to slow down, reflect, and build insight, while also learning ways to feel more grounded and in control, day to day.

This is a space where your values, identity and background are respected and understood. While I use CBT as the foundation of my work, I tailor each session to your unique needs, whether that includes cultural context, faith, or simply the kind of support that feels right for you.
