Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is therapy or counselling?

Therapy (or counselling) is a supportive, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with a trained professional.

It’s not about giving advice or fixing you, it’s about helping you make sense of things, find your own clarity and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Whether you’re struggling with something specific or just need space to reflect, therapy can support growth, healing and understanding.

  • What kind of therapy do you offer?

I primarily offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but I also take a culturally and spiritually sensitive approach, integrating elements from Islamic psychology when it aligns with the client’s values and therapeutic goals.

  • Who do you work with?

I work with adults and young people aged 10 and above. I support both women and men, regardless of background and offer a respectful, culturally aware space tailored to your needs

  • Do I need to be Muslim or South Asian to work with you?

Not at all. I work with people from all backgrounds. While I offer faith-informed therapy when requested, my approach is inclusive, respectful and tailored to your needs.

  • Is everything I share confidential?

Yes, everything you share in therapy is kept strictly confidential. There are a few rare exceptions, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. I’ll always explain these limits clearly and with care, so you feel safe and informed from the start.

  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you're feeling emotionally drained, questioning your direction, or simply want to understand yourself better, therapy can offer a space to pause, explore and heal. It’s okay not to have all the answers.

  • Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

Yes, I offer both. Online sessions are available across the UK and internationally.

In-person sessions are offered in a private, comfortable space. Please get in touch to learn more.

  • How long is a session and how much does it cost?

Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £50. I offer both therapy and clinical supervision and fees may vary slightly depending on the service.
